okay today I broke out with a cold sore right on my lip. I bought that cream abreva.My question is should I pop the blister is that good or no?Please help I am dyin...

This was told to me by a registered nurse: Use acetone-based nail polish remover or acetone with a Q-tip. Dab it on repeatedly to dry it out more quickly. This is supposed to penetrate the sore and deactivate the virus,dry out the sore more quickly, and make it appear less obvious.
If you can, get a prescription for Denavir or Zovirax cream, use that as prescribed. Meanwhile, use the Abreva.
Some people say that buttermilk and L-lysine, an over-the-counter tablet, can help prevent outbreaks of cold sores or shorten the time they last.

Don't pop it or touch it for that matter or you WILL spread it to other locations. Apply the Abreve 5 times daily as directed and it will help. Or better yet, get an antiviral prescription from your doctor. The blister contains white blood cells in the form of puss that is protecting the infection underneath. To open the blisters would be to aggrivate the infection site.

NOOOOOOOOOO.......leave it alone you'll spread it if you touch it. Only time heals it.......don't waste your money on going to the doctor for a cold sore.

dont pop it cause it will scab and be even worse.. let the abreva do the trick.
