Does she have anything to contribute to society?

I think she wants to be Oprah to the younger generation, but her talk show is horrible!!. And, despite how much she preaches about "good self esteem" for young girls, she still hosts her hit show America's Next Top Model, where stick-thin young women have their self esteem annihilated on a weekly basis (the last zinger I heard was them (not her, but one of her judges) referring to a 23 year old as "long in the tooth" - an equine term for old. Please.). It seems rather hypocritical, in my opinion.

I don't think Tyra is fake, She has a foundation where she gathers underprivileged girls and have them spend the summer in her camp, free of charge, to enhance their self esteems and self worth. I think the reason that Tyra comes off as fake to people is because other talk show or news personnel take certain trainings to do their shows, whereas Tyra had none of those trainings and she is just speaking from the heart. I like Tyra very much because she is a confident woman that is not afraid to speak her mind and not afraid to go after what she wants.

She seems fake, but I don't really think that is her intent. I think she tried way to hard to be sincere. I don't know about her contributions to society though...maybe her prettiness will save the world?

As opposed to Paris Hilton? At least Tyra is actually pretty. And honey everyone is just in it for the money. The sooner you accept this, the better you will sleep.

She may be fake but she isn't as much of a fake as Paris Hilton and Mariah Carey. Now that is fake.

Personally, I don't watch her show. Never have. But I can tell you with 100% CERTAINTY that she IS in it for the money. Who isn't these days?

why are u hating on tyra banks, whether she's in it for the money or whatever your problem is with her, it does nnot matter because it would not affect her one bit. its her life and whatever she thinks shes contributing to society is solely up to her.

No, I don't think she is fake. I think she is a great role model for young girls and she trying to turn the modelling industry around in a positive way, letting girls know they don't need to be stick thin to be happy and that you don't need to change for anyone. She appears to truly care, at least she is trying to make the world a happier place. HTH.
