I posted this question myself and received a lot of misinformation. I spoke to my doctor a couple of hours ago and he believes that I experienced implantation bleeding myself and this is the info he gave me.
Implantation bleeding(spotting) occurs when the embryo embeds itself into the uterine lining. It is spotting, not bleeding, normally not enough to even need a liner, mostly seen when you go to the bathroom. It is brownish pink mixed with mucous. It can lasts for 1 - 6 days and it occurs 6 - 12 days past ovulation. The norm is 8 - 10 days. If it is the least bit red (bright) and is near the time of your expected period then it should be considered an irregular period. However if you still believe that it was implantation bleeding then you should test 7 - 14 days after your suspected missed period.

Implantation bleeding generally occurs 3-5 days before your missed period. It is a pinkish, brownish spotting that lasts 1-2 days.... No more than a pantiliner would be required.
Once implantation occurs, your body BEGINS producing the HCG hormone. I would wait 2-3 days and get a sensitive PG test such as EPT or First Response - it should be able to detect your HCG at that point since it doubles every 2 days.
Good luck...

Generally, once you have implantation bleeding you are far along enough to take a test to find out for sure if it's pregnancy.
Implantation bleeding is light and spotty and can last up to a few days.
Sometimes if you are already pregnant and you dont know it yet, and you have intercourse, you will spot blood and it's not actually implantation bleeding, it's from cervical irritation because early in your pregnancy the cervix gets low and sensitive.
Good luck, hope you are pregnant if that is what you are wishing for!
