is it ok to keep makeup that is over 3 yrs old? or will it damage your skin?

it's best to throw it out and just get fresh stuff. over the years it can hold a lot of bacteria etc.

Yes, it will damage your skin. Makeup can only last so long, then it get bacteria in it, and can really harm your skin. Here is the shelf life to makeup:

Oil-Free Foundation: 1 year
Cream or Compact Foundation: 18 months
Concealer: 12-18 months
Powder: 2 years
Blush and Bronzer: 2 years
Cream Blush: 12-18 months
Powder Eye shadow: 2 years Cream Eye shadow: 12-18 months
Eyeliner: 2 years
Liquid eyeliner: 3-6 months
Mascara: 3 months
Lipstick: 2 years
Lip liner: 2 years
Lip gloss: 18-24 months
Nail Color: 1 year

N.Y.C. Makeup is the cheapest brand pf makeup. It's great, and they have so much to choose from, and get this- They're products range from $0.99 to $5.00! Wet n' WIld is another cheap brand, and it rocks. They have so much great makeup to choose from, and a lot of their products are only $0.99!

haha nice question becasue we had a big makeup bag that had a lot of make up so one when my sister heard it from her skin doctore the dermetologist told her to throew it away casue we cannot have make up for three months it is a lot of bacteria in it

no ur supposed to get new make up every 3 months as a proven fact b/c it gets bacteria in it and is bad for u and can actually get u sick sometimes so i would just get some new stuff

its best to replace makeup at least every 3-6 months.

Throw it out. I like revlons colorstay liquid with the powder it stays on well.

discard them and buy new ones. you cant take risks like that with your lovely face!


nyc works well, but almay is very good!
