what are some reasons why fedealism existed or still exists in the united states...any help or answers will be greatly appreciated

To allow the maximum local freedom without permitting factions too much power. The State of Nebraska can decide where to build schools and roads, and how much the people want to spend. The State of Texas can have capital punishment, but New York can decide the other way.

The Federal Government can do things you don't want 50 states to do like have a common currency and set up a post office. It can have treaties with other countries.

States have a referee in their disputes. The Federal courts are a venue for settling disputes between states and citizens of different states
