There is a reason those children are starving. They have nothing! Can't get nothing and those people work hard for nothing. Kids here have lazy parents, not responsible for their own, don't care. There are so many resources here in Canada and it the States but over there, there is none. We have food bank, Social Services, clinics etc. Government takes in Children and cares for them, if the parents can't handle it. They deserve the help

We do also give money and food to starving children here. There is money that you can donate at ur local stores and things but yes i do understand what you are saying i say the same thing we do need to do more for the children and families here. But most over seas do not have the things that help starving and poor that we do have here they Have way less then the poor do here. Some live at a dump site and they pick there food out of the a dump not a trash can or anything BIG piles of trash where the dump trucks dump the all the trash that they collected and their houses are on the hills or near the hills of the piles on top piles.

Because we are supposed to, as a Christian nation, help all those in need and the children are God's little lambs.

The starving children of America are overlooked because there are so many Neo-Cons with their heads plopped up on some barstool in Texas drunkardly believing that there are no starving children here in this, the rishest country in the world.

Thank God for the Missions in this country which step up to the plate and feed many of the hungry. Check out the Fred Jordan Mission in Los Angeles. I'm sure they have a web-site.

It doesn't much sense, does it ? But then I've learned that much of the money you give never gets to the people who need it. I started thinking about this when I read In a newspaper that the CEO of the United Way makes over $300,000.oo a year. Couldn't a little of this payroll do a whole lot to help people? I no longer give to organizations. Greed is disgusting. Check on the payrolls of some of the heads of a lot of the charitable organizations. You'd be amazed. That's a real eye opener! I've decided to help people that I actually know and help them directly. That way I know every cent goes where it should. Believe me, there are a lot of needy people very close to home.

The starving children overseas are most likely in a third world country where they are in greatly worse conditions than those here in our country. It is actually quite rare for someone to be actually starving in the US they are usually just hungry but, yes it does exist

In the US what we tend to have are children starving because their parents feed them junk food, not real nutrition. So they're starving from malnutrition.

The task here in the US is to educate parents and children, and the places that serve food, about proper nutrition, obesity, and other eating disorders.

Don't begrudge the overseas charities. We're all one global village now. It's been proven that poverty and lack of education are significant factors in causing terrorism.

This is a subject that has been ticking me off for years. Yes we have starving children right here in the USA. But do you ever see commercials about sending money to help them? No you see commercials for starving children in other countries. Yes I feel bad for them, but I don't send them money. I donate to food cupboards, salvation army, food drives etc.. for use right here in the US.

I agree that we should take care of our own first, but some believer that Americans have many opprotunities to look forward to and that children in other countries don't have. I think it's a dumb way to look at it because they're just children, but that's actually what Oprah said when questioned on why she is sponsoring a child from Africa instead of an American.

Well at the risk of sounding like an compassionate bastard, other countries EXPECT us to.

I agree we as Americans should take care of our own first but this is America and I guess we can send it too poorer countries if we wish. One poster is right. With the social programs we have no child should starve however many welfare recipients ( not all ) abuse the system by spending yours and mine money on other things then their kids. ( Drugs, alcohol, and cigs! )

Not really. I mean yes there are kids who don't have food right now but there are a lot of charities in the U.S. who supply food to families in the U.S. There are enough people giving to these charities in the U.S. that there is still money left over to donate to these foreign charites.

However if you do want to give to children in the U.S. look up WIC and make a donation.
