Try and keep things in perspective. You're question is like saying "I read a story of someone who died in a car accident, so you should never ride in a car again." You're taking a chance just getting out of bed in the morning. But if you lived your life in a negative or paranoid frame of mind like that, life wouldn't be too much fun.
Granted, not too many people get excited about going to the dentist. But I'm not going to NOT do something because of a random news story. Odds are pretty good you'll just walk out of the dentist office with clean teeth, not on a stretcher. Be an optimist, not a pessimist. You'll get much more out of life!

It may not have been the dentist's fault..The sedation may have been the cause of it..A lot of times they will explain to you that there a risk involved with Sedations, some people don't wake back up and there's other risk also..So to answer your question yes if he has a good reputation and is a good dentist I would go to him..If I knew it was something that he did WRONG and was certain of it No I wouldn't..

I live in Chicago and she was in a coma since Saturday until they took her off life support today. I have a 5 year old and I can't imagine not being in the room with her for any procedure that she was sedated for. I also wonder why was she having so much dental work on her tiny little teeth. It is all so sad. My child's dentist's office is very open and always has the parent with the child.

Please comprehend that she had intravenous sedation AND oral sedation AND inhalation sedation (nitrous oxide). i do no longer understand the situations, yet please do no longer imagine that it truly is without caution a hassle-free occurence. inspite of this mixture of medication, it truly is uncommon. i'm no longer protecting the guy, because i understand no longer something about it, yet this feels like extremely some sedation to beused in a private workplace putting. If this stops you from going to the dentist, how are you ever going to get in a motor vehicle again? are not there nevertheless about 50,000 human beings killed in autos each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days?

Most people don't need sedation to go to the dentist. It's important to take care of your teeth.

That would involve alot of trust with your dentist.
But I personally would be afraid to take my daughter to the dentist now if she ever needs to go.
make sure to keep your teeth healthy, that way you don't have to go.

You really need to get the facts on that more though bc it could of been the parents or whoever took her their bc if they did not know or knew but did not write down or tell the dentist that she was allergic to anitstics then the denstist is not really liable. But if that is not the case and he gave her too much and killed her then He needs his licens pulled and do some jail time. I would not go to that denstist if it was his fault

yes i 'd still go to my dentist because that isn't going to stop me from getting my checkups. if a woman died from visiting her gynecologist would you stop getting your exams, or if you got bit by a bee would you stop eatting honey . come on when are we gonna stop letting fear control us the truth is we are all gonna die one day and we have no control of our death so its best to live life and let god control your destiny cus nobody is in control of nothing god is and when he feels its time its time okay .
