You can cause the placenta to tear away from your uterus if you lift things that are too heavy. In your 7th month I belive the limit is 10-15lbs. They will make allowances if you have small children but I have even been told to be very careful when lifting my son and i'm only 18 weeks along. He is 1 and between 20-25lbs. It is important that you dont overdo it as it will affect your health cause preterm labor and stress is very bad for you and the baby. Be careful and remember you dont have to be superwoman. This is one of the few times you get to be pampered. Take advantage, its best for your baby.

With my first pregnancy, I had pre-term labor that was supposedly caused by overexerting myself at work and didn't think I was. I was 6 months along and put on bedrest. So I would say that it is definetly dangerous for both of you! If you have severe cramps or backache, let your dr. know! My labor was all in my back and I, too, thought it was just a backache! Be careful and good luck!

It is NOT dangerous for your baby!!! And you will not go into premature labor for working too hard. I worked hard through both of my pregnancies and didn't go into labor until a week after my due date both times!! They tell you not to lift anything too heavy because it is hard on your back. When you are not pregnant your abdominal muscles are there to help you, but when you are pregnant you abs move out to the side to make room for baby. When you loose your abs your back has to do all the work and you could hurt your back if you really over do it. BUT don't let people scare you into thinking that you are putting your baby in harms way. Let your body be your guide not old wives tales.

Cramps and backaches are normal. I'm 18 weeks and I still do everything like I did before. Just listen to your body. You should be able to tell if you are pushing yourself too hard. If you are then stop. My 2nd child was born in Jan. I was doing kickboxing aerobics up until Dec. Your body can take a lot. Pregnant women are not delicate. But at the same time just listen to your body and take it easy. If you feel fatigued or have muscle aches, rest.

Yes, it can be dangerous, the farther you are along the worse it is though. If you feel you need to stop, do so... your body is made to tell you! In some cases women who were working way more than the should have been went into pre-term labor (but his is very rare). Like I said, listen to your body, and stop when you need to! Good Luck with the baby!

probably time to take it easy...lifting could pull muscles that are stressed now anyway...your center of gravity is different...balance could be a problem...if it hurts then stop or don't do it

its for your and your babys health, over straining your body puts even more strain on your baby, it could also lead to premature labor if you are really over doing it. You need to take time for yourself and slow down....
