I depends on the weather. Really. If the weather is wet and rainy, it will be able to go much further than if it is hot and dry. Crayfish need to stay relatively moist during their travels out of the water. Once they dry out, they will die.

They are great climbers too. If you are planning on keeping one or more in an aquarium, you will need a good tight fitting top to keep them from ending up on the floor all dried out.
