There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
This first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than do drive those nails into fence.
Finally, the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at, He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper, The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said,''you have done well my son, but look at the holes in the fence.'' The fence will never be the same. Whan you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one.

Excellent parable and quite true. Sometimes people have tunnel vision when it comes to taking responsibility for inappropriate, harsh and sometimes abusive actions. You can't take back the past, but you can learn from it and try to do better next time. The first step is to realize that you've wronged someone. Then repent, forgive yourself and try again. Did you notice I said try ??? Do you remember how many nails the little boy put in the fence and how quickly he did it? Did you also notice that the anger SLOWLY dwindled away? That's kinda how life is. It's easy to mess up and usually takes longer to fix. Oh, by the way, that fence you were talking about was eventually torn down and put into a shredder. That same wood is now used to decorate landscape and beautiful gardens. They even found a place to use the nails. They were used to secure a friend of mine to another piece of wood that was also eventually destroyed. The only difference is that He allowed them to use the nails in order to make my life beautiful.

I guess the moral of the story is to teach us that when you lose your temper, you wind up saying the wrong things to the people we care about. Great Story!

Oo that's a good story...A very good one and it's soo true anger will lead to fighting with friends and too much anger can lead to your friend being scarred for life by you in their hearts....And I don't think saying sorry to them would do anything because you left a big big big big scar that your friend just can't forgive because you scarred her for life...Well I just wanted to type that in..
