well i think it is important to secure our schools just because any crazy person could walk in and do anything, as far as guns go, just because a person can own a gun it does not give them the right to kill anyone. it should be used to protect their home and families

Anybody cannot buy a gun in America. You have to meet certain requirements. There are several countries that have even more relaxed gun laws than the US.
The only reason we need armed guards at schools is because we don't throw the troublemakers out of school like we should.

It hurts my heart a little bit, but we have some areas in the United States where we might need security guards. I keep thinking about a teacher from San Diego who in 1978 killed some of her students. Columbine, Colorado--those two boys slaughtered a bunch of of their fellow students. Ugly, but as society changes, we have to make other changes--we have some tough areas where students challenge and threaten teachers, some teachers that hurt students, students hurting other students, I don't know which other way to go. Security guards might make sense.

Perhaps we should rethink what schools do, and how big they are. Whenever you concentrate your resources in one place, you create a vulnerable target. Instead of paying schools up to (and over) $10,000 per year, we should pay parents that money and just use government employees to coordinate and check on students' progress. The parents can join together and hire their own teachers or homeschool if they choose. Why do we need to force kids into a factory model?

yes i agree, but i think the guards should have guns on them. at least the schools with be safe. i just heard some student just walk in another school and held a hostage (student) but they couldn't save the student. he shot up the place. it was on the news tonight.

No, why would you want to put a security guard in jeopardy? Leave them be at some factory or something.
