I just bought this new computer Hp pavilion Intel Core™ 2 Duo processor E6400, 2.13GHz, 2.00GB of RAM Physical address extension, 2048 MB……etc (so its pretty fast) it’s a cool computer, and has a wireless connection integrated, and when I first plugged in, at my house the internet connection pops in, obviously cause it has a wireless connection integrated. The internet speed is extremely slow!, I’ve really try hooking up other wireless networks near my house but it seems to slow. My question is there some way to make the connection faster? Or what provider would you recommend as a best option for my computer?

The wireless connection shouldn't be sluggish; so, I'm guessing that there's some other program that's working which is using up the bandwidth and making it slow down. This must be running invisible in the background which is why you can't see it.

While this is the symptom of a virus that's transmitting data from your computer; we cannot eliminate the chance that this is a P2P or FTP Client that you may be using that's causing this or a start up program that you don't need that's been initiated along with the router switching on.

I'd suggest that you [a] eliminate the possibility of auto run programs and FTP or P2P Clients running by checking the programs running that you can see by doing the ctrl-alt-del; and then shutting them down; and then, [b] running your anti-virus to find the bug.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
