Robert Palmer’s Simply Irresistible was great.

I also loved Bananarama’s cover of Venus.

Yep, I remember, and yes, good ol' Robert Palmer's "Simply Irresistable" was great.
I wasn't exactly in love with the concept, though---I mean were these people supposed to be singers or dancers? Consequently, things degenerated to Madonna dance garbage---soooooo predictable. Everybody just got tired of it.

I don't think fire was invented last time MTV was really a music video station.

No sorry, fire wasn't invented back when the Rolling Stones started playing.

I think MTV stopped playing music videos during the Great Depression.

No wait, the Great Depression is me realizing that I used to like the Glam Rock.

I remember my sisters watching it constantly. I remember the first video "video killed the radio star" by the Buggles. And also everytime I hear that song, "once in a lifetime" by the TAlking heads, I get that urge to do that chopping motion on my arm when he says, "same as it ever was.."
It's too bad..that's what Mtv was about. Now it 's all drama queen shows.

Yeah, I always watched 120 minutes late at night. They played great music. I liked "Disarm" by smashing Pumpkins and "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode
