What do you enjoy doing? Playing music? Listening to music? Talking, acting, working with computers? Reading a good book? Writing poetry? working on cars? Looking out the window on a clear day? Ever try to meditate? Sports?
I wake up everyday to a new day, no matter how I woke up. That is the only thing on my mind. When I don't feel like doing anything, I usually do something anyway. Play a few songs that I wrote, read a newspaper, work on a project that I have going on. Work on strengthening my arms again. Even cleaning up my room. Don't just do, do something positive. For you first, then for others if you feel so inclined. Figure out something that no one else has figured out. Play your most favorite song, something that gets the adrenaline pumping. don't think about not being able to do nothing, everyone can do something, probably a lot more than I can. Even if that is just working out, jogging, etc.

I don't think anybody but those who've had a recent brush with death regularly think they are glad to be alive....
I motivate myself by creating goals/rewards for myself. You need something to work towards, to accomplish, to give you a sense of purpose. It can be as simple as deciding to keep a clean house and take a run every day at 5 - as long as it means something to you.
yet, if life truly has no meaning, you are probably depressed. Life doesnt have to be profound & exciting at every moment, but you shouldn''t be down ALL the time - you dont have to accept living like that. Start with talking to someone you trust; then, have a complete physical - sometimes depression can be triggered by illness, bad nutrition, or lack of vitamins. Medication is always a valid option, but I would exhaust natural options(exercise every day etc) before trying. Stimulate yourself by trying something new, or helping others(volunteer somewhere) Don't forget - Be nice to yourself.

When I wake up in the morning I know that there is a whole new day ahead of me and I need to do what I have to do in order to keep going. I have my ups and downs and I just go along with the groove with smiles and frowns and try to keep myself as well as other's happy. Life is short but let's not complain as long as you do what you have to do and keep up the good work you will always find your way around...no matter if you have an education, work, or if your rich or poor, at the end prayer is the only thing that will mostly count.

I really don't think about "I'm glad to be alive" very much. Maybe you don't have enough that is constructive to keep you busy. Join the Peace Corps.
Live is rather easy here in the good old USA. That is changing fast. In the future you may spend a lot more time working to obtain the basic necessities of live then your problem will go away.

You should find & participate in some outside interests that will give you a specific goal, likekarate or strength training. Anything that will help you physically and give you a reason to do something everyday. From the way you should, you might want to consider talking to a professional & maybe even looking into antidepressants?

you have to have goals for yourself work towards something. But it sounds like you may be depressed and maybe you need to talk to someone who can help like a counselor, doctor or parent.
