Any type of small animal can go on an airplane. They have to be in a carrier and they have to ride in the cargo hold area. Call the airline and see if your hamster needs any kind of inoculation and if he/she needs a health certificate from a vet. Also I would check on quarantine rules too. Most pets being taken over seas has to be quarantined for a certain amount of time. Each country is different as to the length of the quarantine. Good Luck and happy flying!

You should probably call the airline yourself! I know that you can take a dog and a cat. Only if you have all the shots and papers. I think a guinea pig would be fine but I would call. I think you can bring him in as checked and carry on luggage.

I flew across Australia a few years ago with an airline that doesn't exist anymore...but we were able to buy a large, airy, roomy cage for our two kittens and voila! They came with us too

I'd call your local airlines AND Customs both US and Chinese to see what quarantine/restrictions they have on animals entering/returning to both countries.

Getting on the plane is the least of your problems You need ot check with the Chinese governmetn about bringing a live animal into their country.

Chances are you will NOT be allowed to bring him into their country.
