My wife and I were in a terrible argument.

"Something's gotta give, honey," she said. "Is this as good as it gets?"

"As good as what gets?" I asked.

"Our marriage, you idiot!" she said. "You're like that guy from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"!"

"You mean Jack Nicholson's character?"

"No, you moron, the Native American -- the one who never speaks!"

"I speak."

"Barely. You never compliment me. You never use an terms of endearment. You just sit there watching the broadcast news and obsessing over sports."

"Honey," I began. "There are only a few good men out here and I am a shining example of the kinda guy you should be happy with. Now if you don't like me, I'll just head down to Chinatown, order some Kung Pao Chicken, cut it into five easy pieces and then go seek out some carnal knowledge."

"Is that the truth? That's what you would do?"

"My dear...YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!"

The broadcast news is as good as it gets. Something's gotta give because the postman always rings twice which caused my bird's to get loose and one flew over the cuckoo's nest. I will write this story down in my journal with terms of endearment.

Jack Nicholson

I love Jack Nicholson. He was so funny along side Diane Keaton In "Something's Gotta Give." Jack played an obnoxious OCD recluse in " As Good as it Gets", and manages to be lovable and the same time. Nicholson won Best Actor for his portrayal of an astronaut in 1983 for his role in "Terms of Endearment." Two years earlier, Nicholson played an adulterous character named Frank in " The Postman Always Rings Twice". In " One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", he was a trouble making patient in a mental institution. Bill Rorich was played by Jack in 1987 in "The Broadcast News". My PERSONAL FAVORITE OF ALL TIME movie of Nicholson's is "THE SHINING"! How scary was he in that????!!!!! REDRUM! I love that movie and think he is a brilliant actor.

I was walking home from school when my friend screamed across the street "Something's gotta Give!" then she ran over and handed me a paper and said they were the terms of endearment. I told her it was atrocious and i wouldn't stand for it. she then proceeded to tell me " it's as good as it gets." She walked home with me and we went into the living room. I turned on to watch the broadcast news report when the doorbell rang. My friend asked me who it was and i said, " the postman always rings twice" she laughed and got the mail. In it was the DVD from Netflix i had ordered. The movie called 'One flew over the Cuckoo's nest" with the star of it being Jack Nicholson.

Jack told his wife that something's gotta give. This can't be as good as it gets. He spends every day giving her terms of endearment and she is cheating on him with the mailman. From what he understands, the postman always rings twice. If she doesn't straighten up it will end up on the broadcast news with a big head line "one flew over the cuckoo's nest."
