How do u determine the number of subatomic particles if given the atomic number and mass?

Atomic Number tells you the number of protons (and in an electrically neutral atom, the number of electrons).

Atomic Mass tells you the total number of protons plus neutrons.

Thus, Atomic mass minus atomic number tells you the number of neutrons.

Easy. Divide the mass and the number then multiply it by .87
