I am pretty new to pointe shoes..
When I put one hand inside the shoe against the inside of the platform and another hand out side with my fingers against the platform.. I can feel it on the inside if I push the platform gently with my fingers on the outside.. For some reason I thought the platform was more stiff than that.. they are new shoes. Any help from experienced people?

Platforms are generally not that stiff, because they have no reason to be. It is all about the shank and your balance in pulling up and out of your shoe, platform is supposed to be soft, like the rest of the shoe, just not baggy and too big or too tight. But because they are brand new, I would expect them to be harder, never been danced in? That is odd. Good luck!

Having a soft box is actually a good thing as it lessens the amount of noise the shoe will make. Most dancers soften a hard box anyway. The important thing to remember is that if you are working properly while en pointe and staying lifted through your center, your weight will be supported by the shank and not by your toes.

are they bloch? I got some bloch pointe shoes a while ago and they had this little cushion inside to alleviate some of the pain. If what I'm describing is nothing like what you felt, I don't know what to tell you, generally pointe shoes are supposed to be stiff and hard

You may have purchased a shoe for a more experienced dancer. The beginner shoes are a bit more stiff.
