Thanks for your answer to my question. But as to your question about the heartburn, I had the same thing when I was pregnant with my two children. They both had lots of hair. Tha't's an old wives tale but I think that's what caused mine. What I did to help it was sleeping on my side at night and when it got real bad I drank milk it helped too. Good luck and congrats on a new baby

It's very common. Just try to remember what you ate and avoid it til after baby. Sometimes you'll get it for no reason. Baby is pushing on a lot of organs in there so bear with it if you can. Ask your doc if any antacids are ok to take while pregnant. Drink water and stay away from high sodium and carbonated foods and drinks. Red sauces and spices do this too. Bland food is better, not tastier though, for the heartburn. I'll bet your baby has hair too. This I am convinced is not a myth...lol.

R-O-L-A-I-D-S or Tums or any other over-the-counter antacid. Check the label and don't over-use or abuse them. You can also try stirring a tiny bit (maybe 1/8th to 1/4 of a teaspoon) baking SODA into a glass of water. Drink it, and be prepared to burp as the baking soda neutralizes the acids in your stomach. Also talk to your doctor at your next check-up, there might be more going on than just "heartburn" but only a doctor would know for sure. I had severe heartburn with my first baby, and afterwards everyone told me it was because she had so much hair. LOL!

I lived with one of those huge bottles of tums, the heartburn was horrible, I can tell you it went away right after I had my son. Try to keep yourself propped up at night with extra pillows, it keeps the refluxing down it helped me out a bit. Watch out for the foods that set it off, or should I say make it worse, milk calmed mine down a bit. but most of the time I just popped the tums, and hey you get lots of calcium too boot. Call your ob too you may be able to get a script for a stronger anti acid, but I am not sure about that.

I think all pregnant woman get heartburn. They say if you have alot of heartburn while you are pregnant it means, you're baby will have alot of hair when they are born.

I had horrible heartburn and lived on tums the last few months of my pregnancy but, my son had very little hair.

You can take tums, and rolaids.

Good Luck and Congratulations!

I was having heartburn that bad, my doc. was going to give me medicine for it but I'm taking like two other pills (1 for a UTI and the other for anemia) and so I am just dealing with it and trying to keep eating tums..drinking milk before I go to bed (sometimes another glass in the middle of the night) and also crackers or toast. I just hate taking so much medicine because I'm afraid its too much for the baby. But I also know the doc. wouldn't give me anything that could harm him..i dunno just paranoid..lol. But just try some of those things and talk to your doc. about it.

If Tums don't help anymore, try to snack on almonds as often as you need (plain; no salt, no roasted). I had a horrible heartburn when I was pregnant, and that was the only thing that worked.

I bet your baby boy will have a head full of hair. (Old wives tale) I did. Take Pepcid AC chewable tablets. They are really strong and effective. Of course I had permission from my OB to take them and you should too. Call him tomorrow and ask if Pepcid AC is okay to take, K. About $14-$16 at Wal-Mart.
