The only way for you to know if you are ovulating is to take your basal body temp each morn, same time and before you get up. You should see a pattern in temps that leads up to and after ovulation. You can get the basal thermometer at Wal-Mart for about 8 dollars. I use a wonderful FREE website called Fertilityfriend.com...it graphs your temps for you, keeps track of your fertility signs, tells you when you ovulate and also tells you if there is an implantation dip in your temps. You can also use Ovulation prediction kits, but they only measure your LH surge and give you a ball park time for ovulation...they do not pin point it. Oh, and it is possible to be ovulating while you do not have your period, just like it is possible to have a period and not ovulate.
If this is not working and you have tried other methods...then you should make an appointment with a fertility specialist for a fertility workup. I am going through this now because it has been 2 yrs of ttc for my husband and I. They will do a Semen analysis on your hubby, tests to see if you are ovulating, an HSG test to see if you have any blockages in your tubes and then go from there. So far none of this has been bad. Good luck hun, I know what you are going through! Hugs and BABYDUST to you!

First of all. If you either take any medication that can affect fertility, secondly drugs will and can make someone infertile, and he could also have dead sperm, from a genetic defect, your eggs may be too thick which will prevent sperm from fertilizing them, anything could be wrong. Also, if you can try having sex while you are on your period. It may seem sick but it will sometimes work late in the cycles, because blood is flowing more rapidly. Also, before sex, have a glass of wine, relax and both of you do something to turn the other on so much they can't stand it... then when you feel horny as hell go for it, this is when your hormones are flowing and your blood as well, so scientifically it should help. Also if you can have him hold something cold on his testicles before sex it is said to work a great deal...

I agree with everything everyone else has said.
Generally most books/doctors/etc suggest that if you have been trying for more than 12 months without success, you need to see a fertility specialist, just to be on the safe side.
If you haven't tried some of the helpful hints here, like the pillow technique and reducing stress, try these, and then maybe chat with your doctor. Good Luck!

This is just a suggestion, since I don't have my doctrine degree or anything, just going to use past experience and past articles I have read, so here we go. First off, you both need to eat right and getting plenty of rest and drinking plenty of water, STRESS will make it difficult for you to conceive. The right diet and rest aren't for just now that is also preparing your body for what is to come, and most important part is to monitor your cycle, make it as right on the money as possible as far as marking when it starts and when it stops when you have that down which shouldn't take more than 2 months to check against. When it gets ready to come around I would say that whole first week you except it is when you two need to be the most busy and right after as well I truly believe if you do this you will conceive!! Good Luck with this and God Bless.

With your TTC experience you are aware that to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.
After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.
After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.
Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

It seems like when you stop thinking about getting pregnant that is when it will happen.
We were trying to get pregnant and every month i got my period and so after almost 11 months nothing but i stopped worrying and got pregnant at the one year mark from when we had started trying.
*Just relax
*After sex hold your legs up to help the sperm along (10 minutes)
*Take folic acid
*Praying never hurts
*Go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating.
(It Is A Free And Very Helpful Website)
Good luck to you.......
Here is a wonderful doctor that you could get in touch with if you need to take it to this level

Just relax, when you try too hard it never happens. Don't schedule times to make love or keep watch of your temperature or anything like that. Be spontaneous and just have sex and it will happen when you least expect it. Have him wear boxers not briefs and both of you take multi-vitamins, especially you go heavy on the Vitamin B. It will happen in time, just don't try so hard you have to be totally at ease no stress.

Just relax and stop thinking about it. Somtimes your body knows that you aren't relaxed and won't concieve. You should also try going to your OB GYN. They can make sure there is nothing abnormal going on and also give you something to help concieve.
