Cool question, I was a teenager in the 70's...we wore...

Flare leg jeans (always !)
Earth shoes or Chukka Boots < suede ankle boots that laced up
T shirts with logo's, or peasant blouses
Definaltely hoodies, we used to embroider our favorite bands on the back of the hoodie on the bottom of the waist band.
Hoop earrings and leather bangles
Hair was straight, long, and parted in the middle.
Peace sign necklaces, silver.
If you watch the program "That 70's Show", you get a real good idea, "Donna" always dressed like I did.
The guys wore shierts that looked like silk, and had a picture of some sort on them, the picture started in the front, and finished in the back, Jeans, and suede or "Frye" boots, hoodies.

first it would be "what were the 70's fades?"

i would recommend watching the movie DAZED AND CONFUSED. very good with the culture. another would be DETROIT ROCK CITY. plus, Edward Furlong is really cute.

KISS, hig hugger jeans you needed to ly down and use a pliers to zip up, disco came through in the later years, coke and marijuana also became very popular.

For Women: clogs, smocks, jeans with lots of patches, crop tops, hip huggers, wide belts, midriff tops, midi skirts, elephant ear bell bottoms, bell bottoms, berets, engineer hats, wool scarves and gloves, blue jean jackets with lots of patches, long straight hair parted down the middle. Polyester was in, too.

For Men: polyester shirts with wide wing collars, 4 to 5 buttons open on the shirt, bell bottom polyester pants, bell bottom jeans with lots of patches, hair parted down the middle, long hair, med. long hair, platform shoes.

for guys it was platform shoes.....bell bottom pants......shirts with funky cuffs on the sleeves....
for girls it was short skirts, tight jeans, and daisy duke cut off jeans shorts with halter tops. Then you had disco fever......"Stayin Alive", etc, etc
