gelatin and water = Jell-o
Starts as a liquid and then tansforms to a solid, it can also be turned back into a liquid.

Simple. When you mix it up before refrigerating it is a liquid. When it is put in the fridge it is a solid. It may jiggle, but it doesn't take the shape of its container.
