I am 25 years old, and in a serious relationship. However, for the past 8-9 months I have had little to no sex drive, or sexual interest. I am on birth control pills, and have been for about 2 1/2 years now. I know that BC pills can effect sex drive, but I have to be on them for medical reasons.
I would just like to know if any young women around my age have ever been affected by this, and if so, what did you do about it, if anything? This is starting to affect my relationship, and I don't know what to do anymore. I just want to be excited again!
Please, serious answers only. Thanks.

I am very attracted to my boyfriend, and I still enjoy sex with him. So I know it is not him, or the affect he has on me. I know that this has to do with only me, unfortunately.

I stopped taking BC pills, and mine sky rocketed...it's the pills...since you have to take them, ask your doc to switch you to a lower hormone one, such as Orthotricyclen LO

You sound exactly like me!

I am sure that I did have a sex drive once but since I started using the pill as a contraceptive it declined. Then when i switched it went to zilch.

I am seriously considering coming off ... but in your case I'd ask to swap cos it is supposed to take a while to find your perfect pill match and this obviously isn't it.

I'm 26 have been married for 3 years and have had no drive for about the last year and I honestly don't care. When I get home from work, the last thing I need is to be bothered with sex.

Your young and don't worry about it. There's nothing wrong with you. Women actuall have their sexual peak in their 30's!! You may have a lot on your mind (college work, regular work, etc). You're too young to worry about this. Do not worry about it and let it come when it's ready. That sounded bad, didn't it? Anyway, I wish you only the best!!! Good luck
