Sorry, I thought it was just a general thing. Its a camcorder that records onto videos. Does that help or you need to know the brand?

The Brand and model number would be extremely helpful. Some general info:

Many newer cameras (including those made by Sony) come with the ability to connect them via USB or firewire. In this case, all you need is the software from the manufacturer, and the applicable cable.

In other cases, such an option will not be possible. In this case, you will need to buy a video capture card and some RCA cables to capture the material into your computer. More info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_capture_card
