Centimeters can never convert to liters. cm is length and L is volume.

However, one liter is 1000 cubic centimeters...

I assume that you are talking about CUBIC centimeters and not just centimeters. A centimeter is a measure of length while a liter is a measure of volume. A cubic centimeter is equal to 0.001 liters. Or another way of saying it is that a liter contains 1,000 cubic centimeters. A cubic centimeter is the same as a milliliter.

A conversion table is found in Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary under Weights and Measures.

No. Centimeter is a measurement of length, depth or hieght. Litre is a measurement of volume.

The only time you would use centimeters to measure the volume os something is when you are measuring snow or rain or something like that. That's because it occurs of an area that would be almost impossible to calculate so would not be able to work out the volume. Its then easier to say there were so many meters of snow/inches of rain, etc.

Centimeters do not convert to liters.

1 cm^3 = 1 mL

A centimeter is a measurement of LENGTH.

A litre is a measurement of VOLUME.

The only possible connection between the two, would be if you converted centimeters into cubic centimeters, changing it also from length to volume.

You can also use Google's calculator; just type what you want to convert into the search box, e.g. "5 cubic centimeters to liters." (0.005, btw)

There is no such conversion. You cannot convert length into volume, or vice versa, without additional data.
