No.
You have to get up and get out. Noone wants 14 year olds anymore.
You have to impress the employer to get your foot in the door.
To volunteer- try an animal shelter or Planned Parenthood or even a school. Unless you tink you'll go into vetrinary medicine I'd go for the PP- it's bound to be interesting, and can lead to other things.

No, don't go on the web site. You would still have to walk in the front door to meet the boss anyway. So, dress and look your best and do some walking. My advise to you would be, ask a teacher, or maybe the principal about jobs. How about your local YMCA, Park or Recreation Center, also your local Library. I started bagging groceries...but I believe you're to young for that. Lastly, find somethig that you will enjoy doing everyday, and like to do and be good at. Be happy at what you do.

Here are some ideas:
Sales:
o Avon -- http://www.avon.com
Everybody loves Avon. You can get a lots of exposure at school.
o Daisy Blue Naturals -- http://www.DaisyBlue Naturals.com
The best all natural skin and body care products
Retail/Merchandise/Other:
o Check out your favorite shops at the local mall. You can make money, gain experience, and get discounts on things you would have bought anyway
o Your local grocery store will help you gain skills in general business practices, and money handling
o Your local bank or credit union offers a professional working environment, as you build skills like handling money and working with people
o Telemarketing can give you the opportunity to gain excellent sales skills, experience in meeting deadlines and quotas, and a good chance to make more than an hourly wage. Commissions are given for exceptional performance, food may be provided and there are also incentives and prizes(sometimes trips, vacations) offered to meet goals. I did very well with this when I was in my teens, but it may not be for you. You must be motivated for money and skill acknowledgement, persistent, and not discouraged easily.
All of the jobs above are flexible; either you set your own hours, or they will work around your school schedule. Some jobs may have a high turnover rate and are looking for workers year round. You could also check Monster.com or YAHOO! jobs
for other opportunities, too.
The most important things to learn in these jobs are customer service, pride in your work, communication, organization and using your common sense. Employers know that those skills and "people" skills are just as (or sometimes more important) than education, diplomas, degrees.
Good luck in your search! Look for opportuities in more than one place, and let your friends know you are looking!

14! Good Lord! Why are you in such a hurry to work? Go to school, get into a good college. You have the rest of your life to work.
