Do unattractive people care less about themselves?

Please don't take this the wrong way. I just seem to notice that people who don't find themselves attractive tend to not take care of themselves like they ought to. Does this make any sense to you?

but i think it mostly has to do what other people think about that affects them too . . .

but unless they JUST hideous therez always personality . .

I get what you're saying... think it's more those who don't feel good about themselves, and the people who are like that tend to be less attractive than the average bear.

And perhaps even some of them were attractive once but because they felt bad about themselves and didn't take care of their appearance, things ended up going downhill for them.

Most people can be attractive if they did carry themselves as if they were. So I think that most people who are unattractive have low self esteem and don't even want to make them selves more attractive. An example is I know a set of twins, identical. One twin gets her hair styled, and wears make up and nice clothes. She always looks put together. The other twin does nothing to better her appearance. She lets her hair grow long and scraggly, doesn't wear any make up and always looks frumpy in jeans and a t shirt. They look totally different. So you are right in a way, but I think that most people are attractive in their own way. Some just choose not to be attractive.

Well, they take care of themselves, but, not as much as people who are called "attractive". The "unattractive" ones or the "plain janes" are those who really do not see the need to wear make up and stuff, because, if no one is paying attention to them for them, why bother?
So, they just do the regular routine and go about their day. People are just vain nowadays that it is just sad.

It's my opinion that the general public decides who is attractive or unattractive and acts towards those people differently, and those people, react accordingly. Society is very cruel, and places way too much importance on how a person looks, as opposed to how a person is. A person has no control over their genes or how God made them, and they should not have to cut off their nose or make bigger breasts because society says they should.

Yes it does make sense to me and I see some people like that but it also depends on how they feel about themselves on the inside. Some unattractive people seem fine with who they are.I would say they have better self esteem.

Some less attractive people care more about themselves they just more about there money and all they have beside beauty is there appearance so they have to dress sharp

I think attractive people do take care of themselves better. Some people have low self esteem and neglect to take care of themselves.

Actually, it does. People who feel that they are not attractive have low self-esteem and therefore invest less in their appearance because they don't think it will do any good. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Yes it does and I figure why try? Nothing I can do is going to make me pretty. I mean I shower, brush my teeth, and comb my hair so I'm at least clean but I usually don't wear make-up or really try to fix my hair up.

We just don't have the time. We are left holding the line, picking up the slack of all the "pretty" folk that are spending so much time and energy feeding their vanity.
