Because we as a country still follow it today and its the basis for our country so without it we would not be the US and its just a major thing!

Because we don't like living in places where our freedoms are abused, our phone calls and financial records monitored, government doesn't make any guarantees about how it treats people, and we aren't allowed to say or believe anything we like.
