lol. I'm a believer... but I think Shawn is a chump anyways. he was the lucky benefactor of a team with one of the best lines in Football. Shawn is an "above average" running back, and NOTHING MORE.

Seriously... I dont expect shawn to rush for over 1200 yards this season. If he does.... he will barely surpass that mark.

Shawn has never been the type of back that will run hard for a 1st down... unless its in the redzone.

Walter hasn't been nearly as effective on the left side without Hutch, and Spencer will be a capable replacement, but wont be able to secure the left side of the line like Shawn would have liked.

LOOK at Shawn's stats... 27 of his 28 touchdown runs were to the left side.

No curse needed for this year's slump.

Watch as Maurice Morris equals Shaun's numbers in his first 2 games. Hmmm... food for thought.

Ok, what kind of curse is Lewis? He had a bad year and missed one game oh, boy some curse because the year before he had a great season, so thats what everyone remembers till he had a lower statistical season when he was on the cover.
George-George's curse came in 2001 where he failed to break 1000 yards and Tennessee missed the playoffs going 7-9, another coming off a great year from before and then this, I don't see a curse.

Ray Lewis for the most part avoided the curse. His numbers were slightly down from the year before, but he missed one game. He did not record an interception in 2004, the first time in his career.

Faulk-Despite playing the same amount of games, Faulk rushed for 430 less yards and had 4 less TDs compared to 2001. Faulk's worst season since 1996. Rams scored only 16 more points then their 1996 team who had Tony Banks at QB and Lawrence Phillips at RB.

Maybe they should call it the every other year curse because inbetween these years, culpepper, vick, and mcnabb all got injured.

The Madden Curse is real. Look at the past players on the cover of Madden games. Donovan McNabb, Ray Lewis, Michael Vick. It's a fact and it will continue..... Look at Shawn Alexander now out with a Broken bone in his foot. What more do u need as evidence?

I think it's coincidental, but I also feel it's a psychological phenomenon. When they sign the deal for the cover, they are aware of this so called curse... so I feel that they tell themselves that it's not going to affect them in the beginning, but as soon as something bad happens, they start to wonder, and then all of a sudden it manifests into a problem or injury that destroys their season. Is it a curse? no! But there's no doubt that there is an effect.

no - players get hurt all the time. Most quarterbacks or running backs will miss a game or 2 in a season. Football is rough man!

not at all, players get hurt and have on and off the feild problems all the time, and it just so happens that the cover star was one the many people throughout the season who do/went through it

Strikes again
Luckily for me, I don't think anyone will be knocking at my door asking me to be on the cover.

My boyfriend was just telling me about this, I think it's pretty interesting. Unfortunate, of course, but interesting nonetheless!
