shadows and darkness start rippling in the ground, they start to take on solid mass and form, standing up and wriggling, the shadows group together and create an enourmous behemoth of darkness.. all of the sudden you see me next to you with two blades and a gun, i hand you a blade, and i hold my crimson blade and my gun, what do you do?

Well, obviously you know more about what is going on and I would ask you what the game plan was. You 'd tell me something like "Kill or be killed". At this point I would hold the blade in a defensive posture. As quickly as I could I would study the mass of shadows, looking for obvious weaknesses. I would also study you. See what you are doing and how the enemy reacts and learn from that. As you have a gun and a crimson blade, maybe your weapons have more power than mine so you would be taking the lead for the most part but not fighting alone.
Unbeknownst to either of us I hold a special internal energy, a special aura. The same internel energy that courses through you as well. during the fight our blades cross. Touch for a split second. When they do it emits a quick burst of light. We look at each other in dumbfounded amazement and we hold the blades together again.
There is another spark of light and the longer the blades are touching the brighter and stronger the light becomes. As the burst grows it becomes harder and harder to hold the two blades together. With all my strength and all of yours we now fight to keep the blades together.
The light becomes so bright and has grown to a point that we are encased within it. As it grows the dark mass starts to become angrier and strikes out with more force but we seem to be protected as we are not suffering damamge.
The light has now grown so bright that we have to close our eyes. Our ears are bombarded with the sound of the blades and the screeching of the shadow. Just as we cannot stand anymore, there is an exposion. A noise that is deafening and we are thrown apart by the percussion.
Barely able to hold on to consciencness you scramble to your feet and I prop myself on my elbow shaking off the disorientation. As we look around, the massive dark beast that once we fought is no longer to be found. We both revel in the warm rays of the sun and start laughing. A chuckle at first but quickly grows into full, hysterical laughter. You wlak over to me and reach down to give me a high-five and as our palms connect, they are repelled by the great pain we now have from The Great Battle.
AsI place both hands on the earth, looking at the the grass that never had the hue of green it seems to have now, I get to my feet. As I turn around you are nowhere to be found. As quickly as it all started. As suddenly as you appeared you vanished just as quick
Was this all a dream? Had I fallen asleep in this field and in my minds eye had this horrific yet most wonderous adventure? Just as I was convinced this was all a terrific story brought on by the intoxicating rays of the sun I notice the blade I was holding lying on the ground. I bend over to pick it up and am met with considerable muscle tension. I take off my shirt and carefully wrap the blade within.
As I walk for home I hear I once again feel the warm sun on my body, a pair of hawks screeching through the sky, and the laughter of children in the distance, and a smile cross my face
