I take Motrin every 4 hrs as needed, and whenever I can, I lie down and put my feet up. A warm bath also helps. Heating pad if you have one.
If you like bananas eat at least 2 a day when it`s your time of month. This helps with every symptom of your monthly cycle.

Good LUck

First, you should take 2 Ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil or generic) or 2 Extra Strength Tylenol. Next, run a nice hot, hot bath and get in it. Plan to stay a good 20 or minutes or so. Your cramps will disappear immediately, and by the time you get out, the medicine will have kicked in. For the long term, go to your Gynecologist and tell them about your cramps. They can maybe put you on the pill or offer another suggestion. Hope you feel better!

First thing to do is have a checkup with your doctor, to make sure you aren't suffering from endometriosis, or other conditions.

There are many different drugs on the market that can help...some are available at your local grocery store or pharmacy and some are by prescription only. You may have to try a few to find the one that works best for you. You can also ask your doctor about birth control pills, as they can help lessen the severity of your periods.

Heat is good and so is exercise. Eat well, drink lots of water and see your doctor if your periods get worse over time.

well i hear u girl i know how u feel i suffer from endometriosis. I always try to take something for pain as soon as i start to feel uncomfortable that way i don't get too bad. Motrin, IB profen, Midol, Alieve whatever you think works best for you.
Another thing is sometimes u can try birth control that may help, ask about a low hormone dose birth control.
try to take it easy when u notice cramps right away...
some foods have good amounts of potassium k+ in them like bananas for instance and it is known to help with cramps eat more of those on your period...
try not to eat food that may make u more gassy while on your period it could cause your cramps to become more severe....
if no matter what u do they never get better ask your ob/gyn what they think it could be something else causing it like hormone imbalances, endometrosis, fibroid get those ruled out...

i love so very a lot disagree with the reality that dairy is undesirable for cramps. i got here across interior the previous 6 years that a cup of warm temperature milk, heating pad on tummy, a pair ibuprofen tabs and calcium pills have relieved cramping and intensely right away say 30 to 40 minutes. i doesn't hesitate to eat a cheese sandwhich, yet for cramps, do what change into stated above.

Everyone else said these already, get checked, go on birth control. Other remedies are laying on your stomach with a warming blanket or something hot on your back or just keeping your lower stomach warm helps a lot too. Try to keep your muscles relaxed all the time, that's what something warm helps with. Also Midol is amazing.

Go to the doctor. For some people its normal....My sister had extremely bad cramping. It finally got to the point she couldnt take it anymore. She went and found out that she had a small cyst on one of her ovaries. they put her on birth control to shrink the cyst and she hasnt had any more problems.

get checked !!! If they are so bad that you cant function, get checked!!!!. I had them very very bad and I got checked out and at 19 I was diagnosed with endometriosis. It impedes you form having kids if it is serious. Mine was a mild case but i still got it fixed so that the cramps are gone. !!!

GET CHECKED !

birth control, pain killers, heating pad, warm bath. and before you are expecting your period exercises. this will relieve the cramps because the muscles will be stretched out.
