It seems like even though my parents are older they aren't wiser and they usually call me when they need to know something. So, is it really true that you getting smarter and better with age?

wisdom has nothing to do with age.
wisdom = knowledge+experience+patience

Well, usually the older you get the more you have "lived"....but I would have to say that I'm smarter on real life issues than some of the adults I know (I'm only 17) from what I've been through in my life and what I have seen. It really all just depends.

Good question by the way.

I think that wisdom comes both ways. Us older people USUALLY don't know computers too well so a younger person usually has more wisdom in that area than we do. I'm not saying all old people but some. Also I think that we have wisdom that younger people don't have yet.

Wisdom...comes from your parents...in school...in your everyday life. When you speak to people you always learn something...that's why conversation is two way...the giver and the receiver...in that way you will be able to learn from the one whom you're talking to...
As you grow older you gain a lot of wisdom..and these are your weapons to succeed in life...Think before doing any move...And having wisdom goes with the trend...just go with the flow but as long as you know what you are doing you're on the right track....t.c.WISDOM IS ONE OF THE GIFTS FROM ABOVE...

People become wiser in life by living it,life experiences. If it is something that is new to them then they would need your help because so many things are different now days not like when they were your age.

Wisdom comes from experiences AND what you learn having gone through them. Those who go through the same "lessons" in life and DON'T learn from them seem destined to repeat them.
Age does NOT equal wisdom! I've met folks older than me (I'm 46) who are DUMB AS A POST, and I've encountered younger people who are wise beyond their years.
Keep in mind two basic types of learning- direct and indirect.
A kid burns his hand touching a glowing hot stove, and learns not to do that (direct). His friend next to him sees this, and learns not to-but less painfully (indirect)! Sometimes indirect learning even trumps first-hand experience, too...
Finally, if a person comes across as believing they know it all, watch for them to "hit the deck, face first" when they find they don't know. The "wise one realizes she/he often doesn't know"-and then finds out (learns).

Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. Nothing does - except wrinkles. It's true, some wines improve with age, --- but only if the grapes were good in the first place!

Wisdom has to do with how well you can apply any knowledge you have. The first time anyone called me wise, I was 17, and it was one of the people whose opinions mean the most to me.

Intelligence is how quickly you can assimilate new knowledge.

And knowledge is the data that your brain retains from experience.

Wisdom comes with age if you aquired the knowledge you need at a earlier time.

I think it depends on the person's life honestly, I've gone through a bunch of **** in my life, and I think I'm very wise for my age, and I'm only 23.
