The 4200 would be the best AMD for under $200, but I would personally recommend going with the Core 2 Duo, especially if you plan to overclock, but even if you don't.

I suggest the Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (retail) for $183 at newegg.com, the performance matches a 4400+ or 4600+ on stock speeds. Overclock it and it will be a monster.

I personally recommend the AMD Athlon 64 x2 4000+, with 2000Mhz HT socket. $209 at newegg.com

not sure about the price but athlon x2 is friggen sweet. technically its a desktop processor but they can put them in laptops. this makes them vastly superior to other mobile processors.
