I am doing a research on the amount of money we spend on fast food and why we choose to continue to eat fast food if it costs us so much?

We probably eat it because all we have to do is order it, pay for it and eat it. You don't have to go home, work over the stove and clean dishes. It's a sign that we're looking for fast and convenient regardless of the money or what the food does to you over the long term.

First of all its the people. People are lazy, cant cook, dont care, or just rich and can offord it. Others have eating disorders and order food and keep stuff in a little fridge in ther room for days. Some people just like to eat with no limits. Thats on the negative side. On the positive side, some people get jungry, don't have time to cook, and just want something to go. Or they work long hours and dont have time to pack a lunch or something. Second of all, the fast food business realizes all this, because their people themselves, thus, using this againts consumers everywhere. And some fast food is pretty darn good, and people get addicted to it. This can be bad, just like a cigarette addiction. You should watch the Super Size Me documentary, its pretty good. The health nut guy goes around eating fast food and talks about all the mystery meat and hidden stuff they put in food that noone knows about. Anyway, have fun with this idea, its not copyrighted. good luck w/yo paper.

I eat fast food about 3 times a week. I used to like eating at fast food restaurants but after time and time again, I've gotten really bored with the same thing and now i try to cook my own meals. Sometimes.

Convenience, with the greedy govt. making it hard for anyone to spend time with family, meaning women are working outside of the home, men are working long hours and are barely home, some people even work more than 1 job. It is hard for them to be at home and cook or they have had a tiring day and the last thing they want is come home and cook (work on top of work) so they eat fast food.
But then again, some people are just lazy and fat slobs.

I think its because its easy and because msot people are too lazy to cook.I agree with you its cost too much.it costs less to cook your own meals.I would know i love to cook.Another down side of fast food that its so high in fat and in sodium its not good for your body. Its okay if you have fast food everyonce and a while but all the time is not good.It will leave you tired nad feeling slugish.

Fast food is easy to get access to and it is fairly inexpensive. In our rapid paced lives we rarely have the time to prepare a proper meal so we get it to go. The only real problem with fast foods are the levels of salt, sugar, and fats that it usually contains. Of course it is so overly processed before we get it that these 3 items are needed to give fast food any palatable flavor.

Our society has become a "I want it now" society. This is evident not only in fast food but in all aspects. Everyone is in a hurry and wants to spend as little time as possible attaining anything. People no longer start with used cars and work their way up to new ones. The same for housing. No one starts with a starter house, they go right to something that puts them way over their head in debt instead of working their way up.

Because it's fast and for most, it's comfort food. Some people don't even know how to cook anymore.(and that last ones not about me.)

Because we are becoming a nation of couch potatoes and people with hectic and rushed lives. We are finding it easier to have someone getting paid very little money make our food than to do it our selves. The classic family sitting down to dinner together went out the window years ago. People need to realize that family is far more important than rushing around and getting stressed out on a daily basis.
