I was talking with my libertarian friend today (he has correct opinions on economic matters unlike socialist liberals). We were talking about how public roads are a burden on people and cost too much money. Our solution is this: Privatize every road in America.

What do you think?

Check out NJ and the Garden State Parkway. Drive 3 miles, get in a 3 mile traffic jam for the toll booth, drive three miles etc., etc., etc. Collecting tolls for roads is unproductive way to collect money.

There is a place for gov't. There are some things gov't can do best. The big question is: where is the cut off?

Im a follow libertarian. In Fact im an Anarcho-Capitalist, I'd say privatize the government. Get rid of everything, education, roads and police. I would be happy to privatize roads. I live in pennsylvania. Our roads are crappy (in fact we ussually rate last in the country) becuase penn dot is just a really bad burueacracy.

I don't know if you know Anarcho-Capitalism, but a pretty good introduction book is Machinery of Freedom by David D. Friedman. I haven't read Market for Freedom by Tannehills yet, but thats suppose to be pretty good.

IT will be a disaster just like every other privatization program the current retardlicans have initiated.. The roads will be in horrible shape, the people that own the companies will be rich, and all the work that SHOULD have gone to create jobs for Americans will be outsourced to illegals in this country or over seas for slave labor. THAT"S how it will be if we privatize them.

While you're at it why don't you privatize your children and sell then for a quick buck.

Money's all you care about anyway the way I see it. You may be well off and can afford to pay tolls, but not everybody's that lucky. I'm well off myself but the difference is that I stop and think about the rest of the world rather then have my head up my butt only thinking about myself.

So you can pay road taxes and give the toll road owners a tax break. No thanks! The Governments cant give themselves a tax break you know, that is the only reason for a privatized toll road in the first place.
