You know... this is one of those words that, even if you don't know Spanish, you should be able to at least take an educated guess at its meaning. Think of the English words it resembles..

PRIME (like PRIME minister or PRIME the pump)
PRIMER (as in the coat of paint you put on FIRST before you pain the color)
PRIMER (refers to a basic lesson - a BEGINNING lesson in something)

There are a lot of words like that -- can you think of some others? The next time you come across a word in a language other than your native tongue, think about it first -- does it resemble something you already know? English - particularly American English - is a language that is the conglomeration of many languages and variations of language.

The word "primer" in Spanish means first. Or you can also uso "primero" when referring to a male or "primera" when referring to a female. Also the word "primer" can be used when referring to a President; for example, "El Primer Mandatario" and the word "primera" is when you refer to a woman such as the wife of a President; example "La Primera Dama" (The First Lady).

Did you mean primero which means first or primo which means cousin. How you spelled it, it really does not mean anything in Spanish might be missing a letter.
