Because I sure can tell you that Clinton didn't sit on his *** and continue his vacation while later passing the blame onto local officials. He immediately declared a State of Emergency for the earthquake over here and FEMA and federal money for relief and recovery arrived right away. We didn't even have to look to local officials because FEMA and federal relif was right there for us--no bureaucratic red tape or delays! FEMA was run by competant qualified people, not cronies/friends; so our hard-earned tax dollars were put to good use--instead of being quandered for politicans' personal gain!
God forbid we have another major earthquake while Bush is still in power!

The earthquake in CA was pretty major. And the fact that Katrina was much worse means they should have been their even FASTER and in greater numbers with more relief. That didn't happen and this murderous bastard left them to suffer and die--all the while blocking local and private relief efforts.

I can't see Clinton sending private, unaccountable security forces into a disaster zone, who then shoot black people and cover it up. Bush did.
I can't see Clinton sitting around reading a children's book when our country was under attack and my friends were dying. Bush did.
I can't see Clinton twiddling his thumbs, then blaming city and state officials for a federal responsibility (major disasters and levies). Bush did.
I can't see Clinton appointing cronies to run important operations. Bush did... and still does.

Bush because he's the president! I think Bill Clinton was a great president and I also think Bush is a great president! One things for sure if all this stuff thats going on would have happened while Clinton was in office how would he react? He had it easy because nothing major happened while in office! Bush is just in the wrong place at the wrong time and its just his luck that all of this happened to him! Besides why are all people complaining about Bush? Its said many people don't like him and if thats so why did the US re-elect him as president, I mean all this stuff was already going on when he was re-elected! I believe that Bush is a great president and feel safe with him as a president!

I would rather have Bush over Clinton anyday. Where is here anyway? There has never in the history of this country been a natural disaster that was not first taken care of by local government followed by state government, and finally Federal government, until Katrina. Bush never passed blame to anyone he wrongly took the blame on himself several times BECAUSE the local and state governments failed to do their part before and after Katrina.

The tremor of an earth quake last a minute at most. Hurricanes can go on for a day or two. If you were a disaster relief director would you send relief Helicopters into a Hurricane zone while the storm is still raging? Most earthquakes don't cause massive flooding and diseas. you don't go to a storm shelter during an earth quake. To answer your question I think both presients would do the same job.

Why is it this society has come to depend on governments more than they depend on one another as neighbors to deal with crisis? That's why we can't cull out the dredges of society which are at the core of the problem in the first place. People who won't help their neighbors need to either be buried or forced out so that those who DO want to be neighbors and help one another will have the opportunity to build a stronger, more united community that CAN help themselves together in times of crisis.

You're right. FEMA worked like a charm during Clinton's administration. Bush has filled every federal post with cronies and campaign supporters, none of whom have any qualifications for their jobs.

I really dont have to much to worry about who's president. I live about 1/8th of a mile from a military base, and no I'm not military and no one in the family is. It's just a small town that is alive basically due to the military base. So I'm pretty sure there would be help.
