Supposedly, four planes were hijacked by terrorists from Afganistan. Two of the planes were crashed into the World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon, and one of the planes crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
There are a lot of myths and conspiracies about it, but that is the jist of it. I hope this helps you out!

One plane piloted by Islamic fascists slammed into one of the towers. Another plane piloted by Islamic fascists slammed into the other tower. Both towers collapsed to the ground due to the structural damage and the ensuing raging fire. Yet another plane piloted by Islamic fascists slammed into the Pentagon. A fourth plane hijacked by Islamic fascists slammed into a field in Pennsylvania. End of story.

There were some good programs on pbs. Go to pbs.org and look for DVDs on 911.
If you heard those 911 conspiracy theories before http://www.debunking911.com/ provide some good rebuttals against conspiracy theories.
