They then travel 10 miles per hour after that. The older people then start and travel 15 miles per hour. They are asking for an equation for the d distance in miles the young travelers travel in h hours. They then ask for d distance in miles the other riders travel in t hours. They then ask for a table to represent the time and the distance and a graph.

Just so everyone knows, I am a 37 year old mother of two. I am really trying to help my son who does pay attention in class. Unfortunately they are teaching new math in the state that I live in. I have put everything in the question that is asked in his book. If anyone has any idea at all about how to answer this I would appreciate your help. If you don't have an actual hepful tip or answer please don't respond.

I don't think you have that all written down correctly. I'm in Algebra2, and I haven't had anything quite like that to do. Personally, it looks like you're missing some information. Do the people meet? If so, you need that extra bit of information in order to make the correct equation and table. Otherwise, it won't quite be right.
