When you have a cold sore, is it always in a patch of fever blisters, or can it be just one. I think that I have a canker sore. It was a sore with like a dip in the middle, i used peroxide on it so it didnt get a white spot, is there any possibility of it being a cold sore?

canker sores are always inside the mouth, and cold sores on the outside, a canker sore starts out as a swollen sore red patch, then gets a white hole like in the center...there is no fix for them, they go away on there own, cold sores, or fever blisters, are most often brought on by stress, and often are caused by the herpies virus, they say just about everyone gets them, there are meds avaliable in every drug store for them.

You can get cold sores an they don't have to look like a patch of fever blisters it can be just one.

When you get a canker sore it usually occurs in the mouth and feels sort of like a hole with extreme pain in it. I don't really think that it is a cold sore but is a canker sore. Rinse with salt water frequently and it should go away. Good Luck

The difference between a cold sore and a canker sore is location. Cold sore is Herpes Virus 2 on the outside of your mouth. Canker sore is another virus entirely. There are over the counter products for both; make sure you get the right one.

A canker sore is on the inside of your mouth, and can be caused by too much acid in your food. A cold sore is on the outside and is caused by a virus.
