I just found out today, and I haven't been to the doctor, yet. My lower abdominal cavity is aching, my lower back, and the juncture where my thighs meet (almost my groin muscles). I'm not bleeding, though, and I don't suspect that I am more ethan five weeks along.

Do any of you have any ideas of what this is, if a normal pregnancy starts off this way, sometimes, or if I need to get my butt to the ER?

Please help. I'm getting a little nervous.

Is it possible that it could be gas, too? I know it sounds gross, but I know that pregnant women have to pass gas a little more often than the norm...

Having had a miscarriage, I can tell you to relax!! Cramping does not indicate that you are miscarrying unless you are spottingas well. Actually, cramping FOLLOWS the start of bleeding. In other words, the bleeding comes first, then the cramping. I had no cramping with my miscarriage the first pregnancy. I started bleeding, then started cramping. I'm 13 weeks with my second pregnancy, and I was cramping BAD from about 5-9 weeks, and probably drove my doctor nuts making them run bloodwork, etc. when I was told cramping follows the start of bleeding...PLUS, you are already noticing the sensation of the increased blood flow to your uterine area, you are feeling stretching of your uterus and your ligaments in your lower abdominal region. The backache comes from your muscles that are connected from your abdomen to your back stretching. You're ok! If the backache goes away when you rest, it has nothing to do with a miscarriage. If the worst was to be happening to you, the ER would send you home-there is nothing they can do to stop an impending miscarriage. Sorry! If the pain is mostly one-sided or toe-curling, then you should call your doctor to have an ultrasound so they can make sure your pregnancy is not ectopic, in a tube, which can become very dangerous. Try to wait until 6 weeks if you do that though, so they are able to determine whether you've got a heartbeat or not. (YOU WILL)

My wife we lost our first baby and she dint have any thing like that. If this is your first baby the doc said it is noraml to have some pain. On a scale of 1 to 10 and it is above a 5 i would go just to have them see if they can hear a heart beat but most of the time the heart hasint developed yet. I wouldnt worry if it didnt hurt that bad. So it is all up to u

I had that same problem when I was about six weeks pregnant and I thought I might of been having a miscarriage but it turns out my sad *** boyfriend gave me chlamydia so just get tested and if you have something its not too late to get it treated because it wont effect your baby until it reaches the birth canal.

I'd see a doctor. You haven't been to one yet and you just found out that you're prego today. Did you have these symtoms before to today? Because maybe since you found out, maybe you just are thinking that things could be or get bad. I'd go see a dr asap.
Good luck!

it just sounds like your uterus making room for the baby. If you are really concerned then go to the hospital, at least you will feel better if its nothing. And if it is something then they can possibly catch it and fix it. Hope that everything goes well for you and congrats on your pregnancy!
