I'm listing just a few.

Promiscuous/ Nelly Furtado
Sexy Back/ Justin Timberlake
London Bridge/ Fergie
My humps/ Black eyed Peas

Honestly, I think a lot of room in the music industry gets wasted by this kind of crap. Only the most talented and least shallow people should be let in.

Yeah, I agree. Nothing against the artists you have listed, they are all very talented. But I miss the deepness of material that music can explore. Songs like:
"San Jacinto" by Peter Gabriel,
"Black & Blue" by Counting Crows,
"So Damn Lucky" by Dave Mathews, and
"A Clean Pair Of Eyes" by David Gray.

Ok you got someone here that writes songs, and i had to make a few comments. There was once a song that only had seven words to the whole song, but it was a big hit. All songs are not about someone channeling their feelings. Sometimes one might come up with some really awesome music, but can't come up with any lyrics, so rather than throw the song away, they put it out anyway, and it takes off like gangbusters. This doens't mean the writer, the musicians, or the people that buy it are shallow!! The beat, the music, or groove is everything in a song, and unless your are doing all love songs, the lyrics may come from left field, but this is ok!! Every song out there doesn't have to have earth shaking lyrics, and sometimes not even good music to be good. I have many songs out there, that came no where from my deepest feelings, but came from things I see around me. I write about any and all subjets that I find worthy of writing about. I usually come up with the music, and then add the lyrics to what I feel fits the music. The mood I'm in may influence the lyrics at times, but I try not to write about shallow things as you might think! I got news for you, ONLY the most talented and least shallow people are the one's that are let in!!! Unless you are a musician/writer/producer/publisher like me, then you might not understand what really takes place inside the music scene. How shallow could someone that gets dirty, filthy, stinking, rotten, rich off music be that shallow? What have you done to be in a position to make that statement? I'm in no way trying to make you out to be anything, I'm just calling it like I see it, and hope you will have a different view of music and the people who work their a-s off to put it out there for people to enjoy. Entertainers are what we are, nothing more, nothing less. If we can't put out music that you like then we just can't please everyone can we??

You have to think about some of the songs and find out some of the meanings for them before you judge them. Now almost all the songs on your list are shallow but do you know what Promiscuous is all about? Its telling teens and youngs adults to use protection when they become sexually active because its alot of dieases you can catch out here if you aren't carefully.

people like the idea that they dont have to care about nothing, that idea fails everytime, so they want more because it doesnt fulfill them thinking that someday all of that hollow music with change them and make them better thatn what they actually are. Men like it because the women are persuaded to grind against their pants and maybe come home for a one night stand.

Because musicians know they can sell records or make money by making club bangers for stupid little 16 year olds to dance to.
And I do agree with you.
