It will act like the corporations act now:
Fewer and fewer until there is a handful of different ones all who are in cooperation with each other to "fix" and regulate things...

You have at least one other individual who answered and gets it. The United Nations, even with its problems, is the best hope that we have. It does need to have a strong military made up from all of the member nations ( around 189 ). We need to work more effectively within it. As others have noted, it is a tool that could keep rogue leaders in check and provide balance to the world. The concept of the League of Nations lead to the modern UN. The US will go bankrupt if we try to police the world. However, it still needs to be a gradual transition over generations. It's the one body that has the ability to go back into Jerusalem and neutralize the situation between the Palestinians and the Jews. The UN is partly responsible for the existing mess. Some Christians believe that a one world government is the end of the world. However, the UN is not one government, it's a union of sovereign nations.

We are moving towards that now, as we have for the last 100 years.

English is the language of commerce, science, engineering and international air traffic control.

India is a democracy, and China will be in a generation or so. Islamic countries are resisting democracy and capitalsm, but the writing is on the wall.

The future world government will be free market oriented and more similar to the US than dissimilar.

However, America will be forced to sacrifice a few freedoms to make this happen.

All in all, not a bad thing.

But America will have to remain world cops whether they like it or not...nobody else can be trusted with the job.

I think it is a very real possibility, and there are groups like that now. For example, The UN,President Bush had to go to them BEFORE invading Iraq, and removing Saddam from power. If The UN did ever get stronger, I think it would be run on a larger scale. The UN would try to run the world like a socialist\communist country. They would try to give out free benefits to people who were not as rich as others and force the rich to give a percent of their profits to the poor. Which would completely destroy capitalism, and the American way of life.

Bush is trying to do that. Seriously, how can you be serious? You must like all things the same. Did you go to a private school where everyone dressed the same? How boring would the world be? What a dreadful thought? God bless all our differences. May we learn tolerance and compassion for it along the way. This site itself certainly needs alot . I've never seen such hateful, rude, and oblivious comments in my life.

I personally would fight it to the death.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I refer you to the current US administration for example.

If Man were so perfect that such a government could exist without degrading into world slavery, then we would be perfect enough to not need such a government at all.

It will never happen and in fact the larger nations are fragmenting into smaller nations.

I hope so.

We need a powerful UN with a strong leader, and a 5 million man Army. It'll save American lives, and keep dictators in check!

I'm serious...check my 360.
