Go to a temporary employment agency. They can set you up for short term jobs usally with great companies. Lots of times these companies hire their temporary employees.

Try to call an ad placed by smaller company---you can get to the decision maker and they cannot afford to go thru recruiters.

I don't know your field, but you can also try to cotact recruiters who provide short term help or contract work.

Also, why not offer to relocate? Maybe Lawrenceville is blighted for your field.
