No, actually a short story. It was in the book Four Past Midnight and Secret Window, Secret Garden was #2 (Two Past Midnight)
The tv mini series The Langoliers came from the same book and it was #1 (One Past Midnight)
The other two stories are great as well...I think you should read it because the story ends very differently than the movie...and I won't be the one to spoil it unless you ask...

It starred Johnny Depp as a writer who publishes a novel and some fella accuses him of stealing his novel... The fella makes his life hell and Johnny Depp kills him and his friend... Not sure if it's a Stephen King novel though... I think the book will be better than the film though...
