The PAWS test has a number of questions where you see rotated images, spatial patterns, and sequences in letters and numbers, and normally you're supposed to figure out which out of a number of options complete the pattern or sequence.
It turns out that some people are really good at being able to visualize what completes the sequence, while other people have a lot of difficulty with it. You might be better at something else, like logical reasoning. Just because somebody isn't particularly good at visualizing spatial relationships doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them.
Believe it or not, it's a skill that air traffic controllers need to be pretty good at. If you want to improve your ability to deal with spatial relationships, head over to your favorite large bookstore, go to the test preparation section and find something on taking the air traffic controller specialist test. You may or may not be interested in the parts about FAA regulations and such, but the explanations on how to figure out the spatial relationship and sequence questions will give you some tips on how to spot the pattern.
Just try not to get frustrated with it, and look at it as a sort of game. Have fun with it!
