My guess, without knowing either of them, is that Sean and Sarah could both stand to read "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus." Sarah might see shopping with someone as a chance to talk, hang out, share opinions, etc. but most guys look at shopping more like a chore to accomplish some specific task - sort of like if she asked him to come over and help cut the grass. So Sean needs to realize that this doesn't have anything to do with "how" he shops, but rather with how he interacts. It's unlikely that any "mistake" he could make while shopping is as big as the social interaction mistake of bringing another woman along on a date. Sarah might want to think about whether she really wants to have someone come shopping with her who is going to view it more as a chore and a task than an interaction. And you might want to ask yourself - is it possible that there are other reasons that Sean wants you to come along on his date with another woman, or other reasons you might want to go? Obviously, I don't know any of you, but those are just some of the thoughts that occur to me about the situation.

Don't be nervous about it. It is just three friends, going shopping. It's not a date, so don't sweat it. Still, if Sean likes this girl...he could just follow her lead. He doesn't have to shop in a certain way. He could just look at things and not buy. Sean just needs to try to breathe a little around this girl. There isn't any 'right' way to shop.

i don't think his girlfriend would realy like that..once u come along, it's not really a date! either bring another friend as ur date, or tell him u can't go. he needs to learn how to "go shopping" or whatever with his girlfriend anyways! i know he's shy and scared, but he needs to be a strong, confident Man!! :) and conquer his fears. if u do end up going, just say u can only stay for a bit, and that u have to leave for some reason good luck!

One word....Vodka!
That's just a level of awkwardness that should not exist. You don't bring along a friend on your second date. I don't even think the shopping is important...it's about the time spent together, doing soemthing together that is relaxing.

Why don't you bring another guy along. That way, you wont feel uncomfortable and neither will Sean because there will be another male there.

Why would it be awkward? Aren't you friends with both of them? Why don't you invite a guy and make it a double.
