I feel like I am stuck in a no win situation and I can not get out. I want so much to enter into my field and start my career but the doors seem to be locked to me and I want to die!! I seek out jobs and I just don't seem to get them. I would be happy with just an interview. I don't know what to do any suggestions?

First and Foremost, don't give up.

One of the great things about this country still is that everyone has an opportunity if they just persist. Most people who are successful usually were faced with a tremendous amount of challenges and had to deal with failure and frustration. They are surrounded with people who tell them that they can't do it and they should just quit.

Typically the difference from those who succeeded and those who fail had to do with there attitude and determination. So stay positive, work hard, and don't let anyone tell you that you can't achieve your dreams!

Watch the movie "Rudi". This is a great real life example.

Well, if things aren't working for you very well, try to look at how your life is, well, lived. If you notice that you are doing something a little wrong, try to correct it, because it may be turning employers off. Do you have an accent? Try to fix it if you do. Make sure that you are dressing nicely and appropriately to interviews, and remember to smile. The best way to show an employer that you are a good person is to smile, sit up straight, and show positivity.

If none of that works out too well, remember, you are over 100% more likely to get a job if you ask on the way out, "So, when do you think I'll have the job." This shows the employer that you are eager about the job more than somebody who would simply ask, "Do you think I'll get the job?"

I hope that this helps!

I feel like we are in the same boat - and the paddle just floated away!!!

The one thing that got me out of this rut recently is I started applying for jobs that I KNEW were beneath me - just so I could work again and get a freaking paycheck! I was applying for full time and then I just was like - heck with it - I'll apply for part time work. I'm despirate. So, as soon as I did that I got 4 job offers in one week! I took two of them, 1 was full time one was for part time. Anyway. I quit the part time job because they were having me come in for 2 hour shifts and I was driving for 35 minutes one way... Then I just found out today that I was taken off my full time assignment - and now they are going to try to put me on another one next week... but no guarentees!!! I know what you mean - it seems so hopeless sometimes! I'll say a prayer for you.

God bless - hope things turn around for you soon!

I am in the same boat. I just keep trying. I've been looking for a job for almost 2 months and I keep ending up with dead end jobs that want ME to pay THEM!!! I just keep trying and at the end of the day as long as I can look myself in the mirror and know I did my best then I know I haven't failed. Usually I give my self a pep talk and remind myself that there IS a job out there for me that I will excel in and I will enjoy. Just keep looking it's out there. Good Luck!!!
