Too much marijuana makes you stupider. I have many friends who don't drink that much but they smoked so much that basically their brains got consumed. Weed might not kill you in one day but without a good brain I don't think you could go too far on life.
In excess, both of them will screw up your life at the end.

Alcohol is the cause of death for a handful of people I know or should say knew. And, they all smoked weed. The answer is obvious, but some will not want to admit it. Marijuana is a medicine for many people, have you ever had a bad day, and just one hit suddenly makes those problems go away? And what happens when people drink too much and they have had a lot on their mind, the alcohol makes them go crazy and do things they typically would not do, or do something they hoped to say they did not do. I have regretted more nights of drinking than any of my daily smoking use!!

Just addressing the physical symptoms (plenty of other people want to share their morality), alcohol is definitely more painful as what tasted good all of a sudden isn't welcome in your stomach soon thereafter. But, it is cheaper, more accessible, and socially acceptable. Lighting up at a college party will usually create more contempt than appreciation unless the crowd has been filtered to consist of a "liberal" atmosphere. Procuring pot also means you have to deal with some shady people that you probably wouldn't associate with in day-to-day public living. I also appreciate the comment brought up about coke; namely, that it can be pissed out faster and inexperienced people looking for a new vice might try the "real" drugs simply because they're worried about their urine. If THC didn't stick in people's systems for so long, I'd be inclined to assume more would try it, but policy pushes the viceful into booze or drugs that can be flushed out quickly. Life is short, and if the worry vastly outweighs the pleasure, then it's not really for your enjoyment, but just a passive f-off to the law and society

Cocain is wose than either and we enforce no controls against it because it makes people more active while MJ and Booze slow people down. Funny, right? True too. A regular worker at a ten hour a day four day a week job can get high on Coicain on Thursday night, be high all night, and by Monday morning be clean, so the answer lies in slowing lives down, not speeding them up. Speed kills, but more importantly, speed makes it harder for everyone else around one to enjoy life.

No question, alcohol is worse when used by underage drinkers and to excess.
The NIH and a former federal drug Czar, (DEA jefe) commissioned a study with federal $$-approx. $3.5 mill. spent to prove pot was poison. The worst case scenarios for moderate use were neutral to positive-
There were NO RECORDED instances of death resulting from marijuana inhalation. It DID lower sperm counts in SOME with regular heavy use. (They were ALSO drinkers, though...)
REPEATING, moderate use is MUCH less toxic than daily alcohol use for an adult 21+.
Hemp production was killed in the late 40's by a variety of wealthy, powerful lobbies; oil, forestry-paper industries and another one that escapes me-perhaps the cotton industry back when we still had textile mills in America...a tragedy all round-it's a hardy, renewable, inexpensive crop that has hundreds of material uses beyond smoking-
God Help Amerika!

I think so as well, but my mother thinks otherwise "because alcohol also has positive effects like anti-oxidants and cleaning out your kidneys..." she says. You can drink grape juice or tea for anti-oxidants, and I thought water was good to clean out your kidneys..... Noone can die of smoking too much MJ, but they can die of too much alcohol indeed. Why is alcohol legal and Marijuana not? Why made Marijuana illegal in the first place? The thing is that alcohol is too entwined in our culture, we've been drinking that stuff for like hundreds or even thousands of years. People haven't been smokin MJ for that long. So I think alcohol is worse.

1) MJ is illegal, alcohol is not (over a certain age, of course). So, if you mean, which are you more likely to get put in jail for using, the answer is obvious.
2) MJ is not actually chemically addictive, contrary to popular belief. It is, however, psychologically addictive. That means someone who uses it to often to "escape" is more likely to have a much harder time getting off of it than someone who uses it occasionally for only recreational purposes. It is also a "gateway" drug, meaning kids who begin to use it at a young age are far more likely to move on to harder (and more addictive) substances.
3) Alcohol, like pot, is not technically chemically addictive; however, doctors now know that many people are genetically predispositioned to alcoholism, which is a psychological addiction. So, on those counts, neither alcohol or pot is really worse than the other. However:
4) People who are high on pot are most often relaxed, subdued, and experience a general sense of well-being. Drunk people, on the other hand, may display a variety of behaviors, from irrational actions like binge drinking to crying uncontrolably to becoming violent toward people they would never otherwise harm. In this case, I would say that IRRESPONSIBLE alcohol use is worse than MJ. That is not to say that having a glass of wine with dinner is worse than smoking a joint with dinner. Just that the possibility of serious harm being done in the case of misuse is greater.

What you say is true but it comes down to addictions ... marijuana use has recently been reported as causing psychosis in many people from over use....
At the end of the day, moderate use in either is probably the most recommended... it's when it gets out of control especially if all your money goes on procuring either then it becomes a problem...
ie.... same addiction different substance...

ALCOHOL IS MUCH WORSE THAN POT BECAUSE POT IS ONLY PSYCHOLOGICALLY ADDICTING AND ALCOHOL IS PHYSICALLY ADDICTING AND WITH DRAWL FROM ALCOHOL CAN KILL YOU I KNOW THIS AS I HAVE JUST FINISHED A CLASS ON ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE BUT THEN POT HAS IT'S OWN DRAW BACK INCLUDING CHANCE OF DEATH BY ACCIDENT LUNG AND BRAIN DAMAGE AND REGARDLESS OF THE NAYSAYERS THAT SAY THAT ALCOHOL IS SAFE WHEN YOU BECOME AND ALCOHOLIC AND SUDDENLY STOP (EVEN IN REHAB)IT CAN KILL YOU BECAUSE YOUR BODY NOT ONLY CRAVES IT,IT NEEDS IT TO OPERATE NORMALLY AND IT PUTS YOUR ENTIRE CNS(CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM)INTO TOTAL AND SOMETIMES UNRECOVERABLE CHAOS RESULTING IN THE COLLAPSE OF THE CNS AND YOUR BRAIN STOPS SENDING SIGNALS OR SENDS ERRATIC SIGNALS TO THE BODY AND HEART AND LUNGS CEASE TO FUNCTION FOLLOWED BY THE BRAIN AND DEATH IS APPARENT
