There are endless ideas for a demonstrative speech, but the most important part, as previously stated by other respondents, is to choose a topic that most interests you. If it isn't something you're passionate about or interested in, the lack of knowledge/interest/passion will come through in your speech.

I once did a demonstration/performance of the Hokey Pokey. A demonstration performance is when you demonstrate how to do something and then everyone has to perform it separately. It is a great way for people to get over their fear of speaking in front of a group. There a lot of things that you can do for a demonstration speech. you can do something as simple as changing a light bulb or as difficult as building a bridge. Have the class make paper airplanes is fun and cheap. your only cost is for paper for everyone in the class. Then you have 15+ paper airplanes flying around the room. I hope this helped.... Good luck.

You like photography? I did a speech in college (some years ago) explaining that photography is the only artform that involves eliminating unsightly portions (by the use of lenses and camera angles) instead of adding artistic portions (by painting, drawing, etc.). It went over very well. I used different photos to show how to eliminate background distractions and such.

You need to pick something that you are interested in. I did a demonstrative speech on how to assemply a fishtank once, because that is something I am good at.
